Invitation guestbook 03 / Call for Stories

For our third and final Guestbook in Berlin, Luke Collins presents 'Something Happened...', a live performance including story-telling based around anonymous contributions; memories of special places, people, and times in Berlin.

This call for stories invites you to contribute your own stories, which will form a basis for Luke to develop the work for Guestbook.

"I am interested in story as a form in which we communicate something of our histories, our desires and some of our deepest selves. Story is a place where we can feel secure exploring all our uncertainties and give ourselves the permission to abandon any necessity for historical fidelity.
The project comes out the desire to listen and understand something about 'the intimate' in Berlin. In a place which is suffused with the grand march of History, I want to collate and celebrate those personal life changing moments.
All those first kisses; that dinner; that night; that letter; that text message; that piece of wanted or unwanted news; that time they told you; where they held you; where you laughed; where you cried; when you understood; when you realised; and with every single one we can remember exactly where we were."

Contributions can be as short or as long as you like, and should be sent directly to Luke at luke_toot@hotamil.com by 20th March 2005.

Luke Collins work, presented as performance, installation and video, mixes live story-telling, mythology, and a powerful use of language to give his audience a glimpse of an intense, rich, and layered other world. There will be an editioned work given as thanks to all those who have contributed.

Guestbook 03 will be held at our home at Sredzkistr. 14 on Wednesday 23rd March 2005, at 8pm.
